Supervisor Kathryn Barger, a proven leader in expanding access to quality reproductive health care services and women’s health, today received the endorsement of Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project Los Angeles County Action Fund (PPAP) – Los Angeles County’s largest reproductive rights political action committee – to a growing coalition of supporters for her 2024 Los Angeles County Fifth District Supervisor re-election campaign.
“I am honored to have the endorsement of an organization that provides essential healthcare services for residents across our County,” said Supervisor Kathryn Barger. “For decades, Planned Parenthood has championed expanding access to healthcare. I am proud to continue to lock arms with them and work on behalf of our communities.”
PPAP educates and lobbies on behalf of women’s health and works to elect candidates who support family planning and the full range of reproductive health care. PPAP engages in legislative and electoral activity including advocacy, education campaigns, grassroots organizing, and electioneering.
“Supervisor Kathryn Barger is fiercely committed to expanding access to healthcare in Los Angeles County including access to safe and legal abortion, “said Celinda M. Vázquez, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project Los Angeles County Action Fund (PPAP). “She has championed reproductive healthcare and healthcare services for all communities, and has the experience and leadership to bring necessary change to our County to expand access for care, no matter what.”
The endorsement from PPAP joins an extensive list of community groups, elected leaders, and business and labor organizations that represent every corner of the Fifth District. Supervisor Barger also recently earned the endorsement of the Central City Association of Los Angeles PAC and Teamsters Joint Council 42, representing her commitment to champion pro-business policies, while also standing up for working families.
“Our communities want solutions and leaders that listen to them and their needs,” said Supervisor Barger. “I’m committed to delivering common sense solutions that are thoughtful and represent my constituents’ needs. I have a track record of being collaborative and working across the aisle – with all parties – to deliver solutions, and will continue to do so. That’s my style and who I am.”
